Step 1

Engagement letter

Complete and sign our simple engagement letter. If joint owners are both asking us to act for them, then it helps if they use the same letter. Then, sign and scan the letter and email it back to us.

We regret that we are unable to accept instructions from citizens or residents of the United States of America or of Canada.

Step 2

Information about you

We will ask you for some basic information about you and your property income. We will use the information you provide to complete three forms for H.M. Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and set you up on our computer systems. We will send you the completed forms for approval before we send them to HMRC.

Step 3

Anti-Money Laundering checks

We are obliged to obtain and keep ID evidence for each client. We will ask you for a copy of two pieces of address evidence (utility bill, bank correspondence etc) and will ask you for a copy of the photo page of your passport. We will then arrange for a link to a biometric test to be emailed to you. This test can be completed in just five minutes at your own computer.

Companies

If your property business is run through a UK or non-resident company, they will have to comply with the UK Corporation Tax regime for which we have a different engagement letter. Get in touch to discuss.
